Nicaragua Balladares Caturra Natural

This is the new harvest from Nicaraguan super producer Luis Alberto Balladares, he is an icon in the country's coffee tradition, his knowledge and passion comes from three generations of family heritage. He won 6th place in the Cup Of Excellence 2021 after landing 1st place in 2020, so it's no surprise that his coffee is exceptional.

The relationship with Luis is long and we have visited his farms several times; Johan & Luis had an intensive collaboration for several years when Luis first started producing experimental lots.

This cherry-dried Caturra comes from his farm La Esperanza. The high altitude, the biodiversity with all the shade trees such as guava, rubber trees, various conifers, cedar and more and the rich wildlife (sloths, wild cats, deer, rabbits...) all contribute to the whole. But above all, it is Luis' knowledge and dedication that gives the coffee its tropical elegance. In the character we find almond, pineapple, vanilla, milk chocolate, black tea, orange, apricot and peach. All in a well-balanced whole.
