Kenya Oreti SL28 Natural

Boyce Harris produces some of the very best coffee we know and this naturally dried SL28 - which comes from 100-year-old trees planted by his great-grandfather in the early 1900s - is probably the jewel in his coffee crown. It's a magically good coffee; complex, elegant and shows a perfectl balance between juicy dark fruit and a lively acidity.

This micro lot comes from the Oreti coffee farm where there is a small part with almost 100 years old SL28-trees, planted by the current owner's great-grandfather. The farm has belonged to the Harris family for five generations and is now run by Boyce Harris. Tradition and respect for the environment are important values here, with the family looking after 80 hectares of native rainforest. The family is also involved in social issues, including running a school for employees' children.

Boyce has been letting the beans dry slowly with their fruit skin left on raised African drying beds - so-called natural process. The result is an elegant & flavorful coffee that should please anyone that want to taste something extra special.
