El Salvador San Andres Pink Bourbon

We have known the Magaña family for 15 years and have visited them and their farms - which have been owned by the women of the family for four generations - several times. The ecological awareness is high and the farms are home to a diversity of animals and plants, they really manage their farms exemplarily and we are proud to be able to buy all the coffee they grow. This particular micro lot comes from their small farm San Andres. Here are a few hundred trees of Pink Bourbon, a variety that we learned to love from Colombia, but which here in El Salvador shows a new side. This wet-processed coffee is sweet and smooth, like so many other coffees from El Salvador, but is balanced here by a lively fruitiness and sweet citrus.

The Magaña family have their farms in the Apaneca region and take of them with great care and sensitivity. We have known Angel and his family for more than 15 years and buy their entire harvest. The family has a great commitment to both the environment and quality, always striving to be a little better every year. The philosophy is about growing and producing coffee in harmony with nature, a deep care for the balance of the soil and the ecosystem. Their farm is home to a variety of birds and other animals.
