Zesui is the name of a mountain peak in the Elgon mountain range where the women farmers behind this naturally dried all are members of a Kalaa Mugosi, which is a small local organization set up to promote women's empowerment through economic independence. Kalaa Mugosi means 'breaking the ropes' in the local language and the aim is to help women free their families from poverty through coffee farming. Many of these coffee farms are extremely remote, but the beans eventually reach Kalaa Mugosi founder Sandra Nyakayenze in the village of Busiita, from where the coffee is exported.
The women's coffee has a character of berries, milk chocolate and ends with a slightly fruity balance between sweetness and richness.
