Here is the second coffee of the year from Kenya, this time from the Kerugoya washing station, located in the Kirinyaga region, near the town of the same as the washing station. Here, over 1,000 coffee farmers hand over their coffee for selection, peeling, fermentation and drying.
Producers are small family farms - all growing coffee alongside other crops. On average, families have around 250 trees per farm. After fermentation and a thorough washing, the coffee is slowly dried on raised African drying beds.
This is a coffee with classic Kenyan flavors, which means a powerful character where the coffee's juicy notes are combined with a taste of sweet dark berries, citrus & a hint of black currant.
